Gary J Linton Books

The apostle Paul encourages Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15 to diligently study the word of God so that he may present himself approved before God. This means working hard to understand biblical truths and the profound mysteries of human existence, heaven, and earth. Believers should have confidence in these biblical truths and the spiritual insights that shape our lives. My goal is to share my passion for exploring these biblical insights in a way that inspires and captivates readers

In the song “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” one verse emphasizes that it is a privilege to bring all our concerns to God in prayer. The lyrics also caution about the negative consequences of failing to do so. The God we serve is very capable of hearing and answering our prayers, as shown in many instances throughout the book of Psalms, where individuals ask God to listen to their concerns. No matter what challenges you face, remember that God is nearby, ready to hear and respond to your prayers.

As followers of Christ, we must make room for prayer in everything we do. How many of our lives are so cluttered that we struggle to find time for prayer? How many of us allow distractions and people in our lives to hinder our connection with God through prayer? Let’s explore the importance of prayer in our lives and consider how valuable it is to create more time for prayer.

The Pulpit Pal 2  follows book 1, also as a powerful literary resource for biblical information, designed for Bible studies, daily devotions, and quick reference to traditional Bible events and characters. Book two is a more comprehensive revision of book one, as I’ve added much more insight into the Psalms, Proverbs, Revelation, and Paul’s missionary journeys. In the Psalms, there are more intricate details that illuminate the Psalmist's mental and emotional despair as they look to God for comfort, protection, and provision. Paul and the missionaries carried the Gospel of Christ to every possible part of their known world, and the places, events, and people of interest deserved a greater understanding of the importance of their work to Christianity.

The Pulpit Pal began as my private journal of bible information because I lacked biblical knowledge. Over time, my journal grew from a few pages of helpful information into a notable tool that caught others' attention and interest. In my attempt to make my journal more appealing, I was touched by the Spirit of God to be a blessing to others who, like me, struggled with a lack of biblical expertise and the need for spot-on information. The Pulpit Pal is a book that offers a basic overview of biblical information and is extremely useful for avid Bible students and anyone who loves the word of God.

My Journey

During the late Dr. Lundy Savage's pastorate, I answered my call to preach the gospel of Christ. I was licensed in 1985 and ordained in 1995 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Champaign, Illinois. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in University Studies from Southern Illinois University and a Master’s in Theological Studies from Dallas Baptist University. I extended my studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and Bishop College School of Religion in Dallas, Texas. During my ministerial career, I had the pleasure of serving on staff, providing pastoral care, and preaching in several successful ministries.

Passion and Purpose

It gives me great joy to hear that readers are diving into my books, where characters are surreal yet grounded in real-life stories and situations that continue to impact and shape lives today. The remarkable missionary journeys and ministries of the Apostles Paul, Barnabas, Silas, Timothy, and John Mark served as the ultimate blueprint for the Gentile world to hear and experience the gospel of Jesus Christ. The disciples, apostles, and born-again believers of Jesus Christ used every tool and spiritual weapon necessary to preach, teach, proclaim, and promote the plan of salvation in an effort to save a sinful and dying world.

First-century missionaries had to rely on the most primitive means to spread the good news of the gospel of Christ, while current generations have the benefit of e-books, audiobooks, and digital and physical platforms to communicate the truth of Jesus Christ. I believe that any device and biblical tool God creates is necessary for reaching the lost, whether the platform is digital, physical, or audio forms of books and literature. These resources give believers a significant opportunity to overcome the enemy’s attempts to kill, steal, and destroy the peace, joy, and life that Christ abundantly desires for every believer and follower.

Dear Heavenly Father, I approach Your throne with a heartfelt prayer for my health and strength, seeking Your guidance and support in maintaining my physical and mental well-being. I request your assistance in managing my finances, seeking biblical wisdom in stewarding my resources, and in providing for myself and others.

As I navigate through my mission and journey in this life, I ask for clarity in my purpose and the courage to pursue it with passion and determination. Finally, I pray for the abundant manifestation of Your love in the hearts and minds of every human being on this planet. May this love inspire positive actions and compassion in their behaviors and character, fostering unity and understanding among all people.
